Say Goodbye to Sagging Skin Without Surgery

Say Goodbye to Sagging Skin Without Surgery

Sagging skin is a common sign of aging — and it’s also an aesthetic concern to many. In fact, every year, hundreds of thousands of Americans turn to skin-tightening treatments to help gently lift, tighten, and tone their skin so it looks smoother and more youthful.

For years, skin tightening procedures involved surgery, anesthesia, and incisions, along with prolonged downtime and considerable cost. Today, there’s another option: the state-of-the-art Plexr® system, an innovative approach to skin-tightening that uses plasma energy instead of surgery.

Rodrigo Belalcazar, MD, PLLC, is a leading provider of Plexr therapy, helping patients at Advanced Eye Center in Hialeah, Florida, enjoy smoother, younger-looking skin. Here, learn how Plexr works and what to expect during and after your treatment.

The science of Plexr

Firm, youthful skin contains a lot of collagen and elastin, special proteins that form a strong, supportive, supple network for your skin. As you age, collagen and elastin fibers break down and that supportive network weakens, leading to sagging skin, lines, and wrinkles.

Plexr works by converting nitrogen directly to an ionized (charged) gas using a process called sublimation. The resulting reaction produces heat energy that can be harnessed to create tiny micro-injuries to your skin.

These tiny wounds trigger natural healing responses, including the development of new collagen and elastin fibers, tightening sagging skin without incisions, anesthesia, or surgery.

This unique approach can be ideal for tightening skin on your face, neck, elbows, and other areas of your body. Plexr is so effective in reducing wrinkles and lax skin around your eyes that it’s sometimes referred to as a nonsurgical eyelid lift or “soft” blepharoplasty.

Plexr treatment: What to expect

Before your treatment, Dr. Belalcazar applies a numbing cream to your skin to keep you comfortable. Once your skin is prepared, he passes the handheld Plexr device over the treatment area, enabling tiny bursts of energy to penetrate the deeper layers of tissue where collagen and elastin are produced.

Treatment time can vary based on the size of the area being treated. Most treatment sessions take 20-60 minutes.

There’s no downtime following the procedure, but you’ll need to follow aftercare guidelines like avoiding direct sun exposure and makeup use — to protect your skin while it heals. Immediately after your treatment, you can expect some mild and temporary redness and swelling. Gently applying ice can help.

A crust typically forms over the wounds as part of the natural healing process. Avoid touching the crust and never pick at it. It will disappear within a few days to about a week. You can expect final results within a few weeks, once your skin is fully healed. Best of all, you can have repeat treatments as needed to fine-tune your results and maintain them over time.

Enjoy smoother, younger-looking skin

Plexr can be an ideal solution for tightening skin and achieving a natural, more youthful-looking result. It’s also a great way to reduce the appearance of scars, tattoos, and dark spots, helping your skin look beautiful and healthy.
